Herman L. Bentley, Founder

Meet Mr. Herman L. Bentley, an empathetic leader and the visionary behind the Sarah Jane Bentley Foundation. With a personal connection to the challenges of addiction, mental health, and broken families, Herman is dedicated to helping struggling adults find their path to recovery. With over 24 years of personal recovery experience and a deep understanding of 12-Step work and addiction treatment, Herman has been instrumental in designing programs to support teens and families in overcoming substance use disorder issues. Now, through the SJBF, Herman extends his expertise and compassion to assist adults facing substance abuse and mental health disorders. As an advocate for education and empowerment, Herman shares his knowledge with professionals, counselors, and the community to raise awareness about substance use disorder issues and trends. Holding a Master's degree in Human Services from Lincoln University, Herman is also pursuing certification as a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC).

With an impressive 25-year career in Federal Service as a Technologist, Solomon Freeman brings a wealth of experience to the table. Currently serving on the esteemed Sarah Jane Bentley Foundation board as a member-at-large, Solomon is deeply connected to his family's legacy. Growing up in Southern New Jersey alongside his beloved grandmother, Sarah Jane, Solomon developed a strong bond and cherished memories. In 1997, he embarked on a new journey by joining the United States Army, where he discovered his passion and aptitude for technology.
